Having Purpose And Knowing Your Purpose Are Two Diffeent Things

I wish I had known when I started my professional life 30 years ago that having purpose and knowing your purpose are two very different things.

Having purpose is based on feelings, and knowing your purpose is based on facts.

Our feelings can lead us to new opportunities and moments of fulfillment, but they are difficult to use when we want to evolve those opportunities and fulfillment.

The purpose you instinctively started your new job, business, or personal creative project with is the best tool you have when you are ready to be intentional about making decisions, braving uncertainty, and staying open to criticism and new opportunities so you can evolve. However, you must make it tangible, something to use when things get hard.

Leading yourself with a clear, affirmative, and infinite statement of your unique purpose is the best tool to use when you lose focus, the noise of society becomes too loud, and you stop evolving and feeling fulfilled.
